Smoothies can be a tasty, healthy treat.  You can also top them with a bit of granola for an additional boost.

This basic food storage smoothie recipe can be modified to make original creations that fit your tastes.  But the best part about this smoothie is that since it uses freeze dried fruit (or veggies)  which are just as healthy as fresh, you can make it anytime, even if your favorite produce is not in season or you haven’t been to the grocery store in a while!

Just imagine the possibilities.  You can have healthy, delicious smoothies all year round!

  1. Love this…. and I know some of the recipes say to add fruit or vege of your choice. Fruit is high in sugar… which is fine for a drink a day. But I’d love to see some set vege-based smoothies. I can play around a bit and maybe I’ll come up with a few to add to our new recipe area. But I like a good vege-based, or vege+fruit based smoothie. And I like that Thrive keeps me from having to trudge off to my compost bin with fruit or vege that goes bad way too fast. Got my sweet pot and my spinach in #10 cans coming to me and looking forward to experimenting with them (in addition to other items I have in store already). Thanks Misty! Awesome Always!

    • Thanks Karen! I have put the Thrive spinach in some of my smoothies. Try it out and see what you think! And if you find / create more recipes with veggies, I’d love for you to come back and share.
