How to Be a Successful Thrive Life Consultant?

Would You be Successful as a THRIVE Life consultant? Great question!  You don’t want to invest time and money into something, including being a THRIVE Life (formerly Shelf Reliance) consultant unless you know you can be successful, right?  That is just smart business!

I currently have hundreds of consultants on my team.  Over the last few years as I’ve worked with them I’ve found something interesting.  Consultants come from all walks of life and all have their own individual strengths and weaknesses.  Yet, I’ve found those that who are successful in their business (meaning they meet their goals) are those with two things: (1) a willingness to work hard consistently, and (2) and a positive attitude.

2 Main Steps to Become a Successful Thrive Life Consultant

So don’t worry about your skills, experience, or knowledge!  All those things can be learned!  I can help you with each of those.  Just ask yourself if you are willing and able to work hard consistently and maintain a positive attitude.  If so, I believe you can be incredibly successful as a THRIVE Life consultant!

1. Work Hard Consistently

When I say working hard consistently, I really want to emphasize the consistency part.  Consultants who are successful spend some time on their business nearly every day.  Some have the time to spend hours each day and others can only spend 30 minutes or so.   Obviously, those who spend more time see their income increase sooner, but consultants who commit to spending positive time on their business nearly every day will see their business grow consistently.

Conversely, the consultants that I see struggle the most are those who are inconsistent.  Even if they invest a lot of time when they are working (say 30 hours one week and then do nothing for 3 weeks), they don’t see success unless they work regularly and consistently.

So, the first question you should ask yourself is:

“Can you regularly (meaning nearly daily) invest time in your business?”

Some days, that may mean doing a party, event, or class.  Other days, that may mean spending time training/learning.  Sometimes, it may mean following up with customers.  Other days, it may mean brainstorming new things you can do at your events or ways to advertise.  Or, you may spend time training / helping those on your team.  I can help you come up with a huge list of things you can do.  You just need to ask yourself if you are willing and able to invest some time into your business nearly every day.

2. Maintain a Positive Attitude

Everything worthwhile takes effort.  Worthwhile endeavors simply aren’t easy.  And things that are easy, usually aren’t truly worthwhile, right?

Being a THRIVE Life consultant is no different.  It is absolutely worth the effort.  But it is not always easy.  It will take effort and you will face frustrations.  Some of those frustrations may come from tough customers.  Others may come from multiple “mediocre” parties/events in a row.  Or you may be frustrated by “growing pains” that THRIVE Life experiences as a company….shipping issues, backorders, etc.

There is a huge difference in how consultants handle these frustrations in their businesses.

Some consultants understand that frustrations are just a part of business, a part of life actually.  They aren’t overwhelmed by them and don’t spend time/effort complaining about things they wish were different.  Instead, they keep a positive outlook and find proactive solutions to the problems in their businesses.  They often turn a negative situation into a positive experience for a customer and gain loyalty.  They learn from their mistakes and keep trying no matter what. They keep a long term outlook on their business and their positive energy is contagious!  It spreads to their customers and their teams!  As long as they are also working consistently, these consultants see success in their business.

On the other hand, consultants who get overly frustrated by the frustrations in their businesses struggle to be successful. They are overwhelmed by the negative.  They don’t work toward solutions to the frustrations.  Instead, they spend a lot of time talking & complaining about / complaining about things they wish were different.  They are unable to see that positive things can come from challenges and are often tempted to “give up” when things get tough.  Their focus on their business is very short term.  Their attitude also spreads to their customers and teams and they end up making things more difficult than they need to be.  Even if these consultants consistently work on their businesses, they struggle to see success.

So, the 2nd question you should ask yourself is:

“Can you keep a long term-positive attitude about your business?”

This does not mean you will never get frustrated, but instead, that you will do positive things with your frustration.  Call me!  I can help you gain perspective.  I’ve done this many times with my trainer/enroller.
