Hi! I am just getting started…did my first homework assignment today. My focus is earthquake preps. This week I will organize all of my family’s important documents and get them in a binder. Also, rotation of some long overdue food is on the to do list!

I feel like I’m standing still in being prepared as we are in the middle of building a house (we live in a “tiny house” now and don’t have adequate room), but, I’m planning so we can hit the ground running when we’re finished with the house next spring. Thank you for all your wonderful advice!

Just did homework assignment 1. I think having a list as a guide to help decide what I need to prepare for will help me focus my efforts. Obviously these are the things I feel would be most likely to happen (forgetting to plan dinner) and what would be less likely to happen, but have more impact (job loss or job change). Plus, when you live on a fault line and are waiting for “The Big One” to happen and a tornado went through less than two miles from the house a few weeks ago, that adds some other things to prepare for. I think completing this course will help me feel more in control if any of those things happen.

Unfortunately I’m on hiatus again while I’m unpacking. But this month I’ll be refilling my water bottles from the move. LOL I guess that counts as rotating my water supply!

What does it mean to “pin”? I believe I’ve heard about that but not sure if I know how.

I am needing to do my 72 hour kit rotation/updating…and quick! With a baby due in 2 months I’m going to have less time and energy than I do at this point (which isn’t much).

I have just finished the chapter about selecting which emergency kits you need. So far, I’ve thrown together a few supplies for a basic first aid kit.
