Homemade Cream Soup from THRIVE Foods

Would you like to be able to make your own healthier, preservative free, homemade cream soups?  Do you use them regularly?  How many cans in one year?  Do you have that many cans stored?  Did you know you can make your own with THRIVE?

I got these recipes (and then modified them a bit) from Heather over at Cooking with my Food Storage.  Thanks Heather!

One idea would be to multiply this recipe by 5-10 and keep a bag or jar of it handy.  Then, just scoop out 1 1/2 cups dry mix and add 1 1/4 cups water each time you need a can.

  1. I love the idea of preservative free cream soup but bouillon and powdered milk are full typically full of salt and other preservatives.

    • One of the biggest reasons I love THRIVE. Their instant milk is just milk and their bouillon contains no artificial colors or flavors. It contains no msg, but autolyzed yeast extract instead which is similar but more “natural.”

  2. How long would this last if made up in a big batch? I am assuming that it would be whatever expires first once open, but I am not sure what that would be. This is an excellent idea. We use a lot of cream soups 🙂

    • Officially, it would last about 6 months (the opened shelf life of the butter and boullion. But if you kept it in the fridge, it would last even longer.
